Introduction

There are a number of ways to add students to your classes:

Rostering via Class Code #

This is the most common way to add students to a class and doesn’t require that you know the student’s email address. Simply create a class and share the class code with your students. Once they create an account and log in, they can join your class using the code.

To display the class code, on the class details page, hover over the settings menu icon at the right of the class name input and select the Show Class Code option.

Rostering via Google Classroom #

To roster via Google Classroom, you first have to be using a Google login for your account, and you’ll need to have created your classes in Google Classroom. Once you’ve done that, in the classes view, hovering over the add class button will show the option to Import from Google Classroom. Clicking on that will request that you sign in again with your Google account, so that we can request the additional permissions to read your Google Classroom rosters.

Once you’ve authorized, we’ll read your Google Classroom rosters and display them in a list. Select the classes that belong to the course you’re working on, and we’ll create a new class in Pulse for each one.

For classes rostered via Google Classroom, you can re-import the roster via the Re-import from Google option in the class settings menu. Note that only new students will be added (existing students will not be removed).

Rostering via Clever #

To roster via Clever, you first have to be using a Clever login for your account, and you’ll need to have classes rostered in Clever. When logged into Pulse via Clever, in the classes view, hovering over the add class button will show the option to Import from Clever. Clicking on that will display a list of your Clever classes. Select the classes that belong to the course you’re working on, and we’ll create a new class in Pulse for each one.

For classes rostered via Clever, you can re-import the roster via the Re-import from Clever option in the class settings menu. Note that only new students will be added (existing students will not be removed).
